The TransAmerica Transportation Corridor in Kentucky
Where does the proposed route go?
The TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] enters into Kentucky primarily using the Appalachian Corridor (Williamson, WV to Hazard, KY), heading along the southern end of the state, passing the cities of Pikeville, Hazard, London, Somerset, Russell Springs, Columbia, Glasgow, Bowling Green, Russellville, Hopkinsville, following the I-24 corridor as the I-24/I-66 TransAmerica Corridor. Once it reaches Paducah, the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] crosses the Ohio River.
Note: In most cases, the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] upgrades highways or rural expressways that already exist. In Kentucky, the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] shares a common corridor with High Priority Corridor 97 (the Cumberland Parkway / I-365) and High Priority Corridor 18 (I-69).
