The TransAmerica Transportation Corridor in California
Where does the proposed route go?
The TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] enters the state of California in the vicinity of Panamint Springs, following an upgraded US 190, designated as the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66], proceeding to Olancha. From Olancha, it crosses the Sierra Nevadas, reaching the city of Porterville. A new route will go west to Kettleman City, upgrading US 41, designated as the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] until the corridor reaches San Luis Obispo.
Note: In most cases, the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] upgrades highways or rural expressways that already exist.
