The TransAmerica Transportation Corridor in Arizona
Where does the proposed route go?
In Arizona, the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] enters the state at Teec Nos Pos, where it once again utilizes the US 160 route, designated as the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66]. From there, it passes Kayenta, until the corridor merges onto US 98, designated as the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66], passing over the Colorado River on a new bridge facility at Page. The corridor swings north to utilize an upgraded US 89, designated as the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66], until it exits the state.
The TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] then re-enters the state of Arizona using an upgraded US 89A to Fredonia, where it then follows US 389, designated as the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] until reaching Colorado City, where it then exits Arizona and re-enters Utah.
The TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] re-enters Arizona along the I-15 corridor from the Utah state line, passing the town of Littlefield, until it once again exits Arizona.
Note: In most cases, the TransAmerica Corridor [I-66] upgrades highways or rural expressways that already exist.
